A: Healthy Advice® provides health-information programs to physician offices across the United States. Our mission is to help consumers and healthcare professionals make more informed health decisions by providing trusted, relevant and easy-to-understand patient education and health information when and where they need it. • Q: How can this program be free to physicians’ offices?
A: Healthy Advice programs are sponsored by pharmaceutical and consumer health and wellness companies, which then run product messages during the programs. The sponsor messages are similar in tone and content to magazine advertisements.

  • Q: What percentage of the program is devoted to educational content?
A: Seventy percent of the program is dedicated to your personalized messages and patient education.

  • Q: Who writes the content?
A: The editorial content is researched and written by seasoned writers with a background in health education and is then reviewed by physicians who serve as medical reviewers. When developing our content, we use the same sources physicians commonly turn to, including medical journals, government health agencies and not-for-profit health organizations.

  • Q: How frequently does the program content change?
A: We publish updated content each month.

  • Q: Do the sponsors have any influence over the content?
A: No. The content is created independently of our sponsors; however, because our editorial staff covers common health issues, you will see some of the same health issues addressed by our sponsors’ messages.

  • Q: Do you always have the same sponsors?
A: Not always; however, most sponsors participate for a 12-month period.

  • Q: What if I don’t like one of the sponsor’s messages?
A: If you don’t want a particular sponsor message to appear in your program, you can request to have it removed. It will be removed within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).

  • Q: What does “virtually soundless” mean?
A: Most of the program is silent. The program does include soft sounds that play to get the viewer’s attention when your personalized messages are displayed, as well as brief snippets of soft music and short voiceovers, such as “You’re watching Healthy Advice.”

  • Q: Does the program require any additional work for our office staff?
A: No. The program turns itself on and off automatically — so it’s maintenance free. A professional service representative will visit your office regularly to check equipment, restock brochures and ensure the program is meeting your needs.

  • Q: How can we create our personalized messages?
A: It’s easy! Your Healthy Advice marketing representative can help you at enrollment or after installation. And you or your office staff can update messages online anytime. Write your own messages or choose from a list of our most commonly selected prewritten messages. If you choose prewritten messages, the message will still feature your practice name and/or logo.
